Sorry for the long pause but I've been at the seashore! We just got back from our annual trek to Delaware's Dewey Beach. It was really great and way too short. Every year we threaten to make it a two-week stay but we haven't yet.
The weather was ridiculously hot but that is perfect for swimming because the water is COLD! I swam every single day and got a little bit browner. I also read, napped, shopped, knit and ate way too much ice cream.
I have one FO for the week, but I also have to show you something I finished the week before we left.
This, of course, is Citron. I knit it out of sock yarn mini-skeins! I didn't have much of a plan, just tried to choose colors that made sense. Looking at it now, I wish I had left out the bright green stripe. C'est la vie.
It is a shame that it took me this long to knit one of these but I made the mistake of starting one in laceweight long ago. The yarn was too slippery and fine to knit without looking at every stitch, so I got frustrated and tossed it aside. I won't go back to it, but I can see myself making another one out of sock yarn.
I was so encouraged by the mini-skein shawl gambit that I wanted to try another one. I wanted something simple that wouldn't require me dragging around a pattern, so I settled on Wingspan
I haven't blocked it yet, but I'm hoping I will get more of a curve when I do. I don't know if I will keep it or give it away.
Are you loving the Olympics? It is so hard to avoid any spoiler info during the day, but I was so busy today that it wasn't a problem. I'm going to curl up on my bed and watch a little before I crash. Getting back on a work schedule is kicking my butt!
