1. The movie Charlie Bartlett.
L made me watch it with her and it was awesome. Cute, quirky, feel-good movie. And Robert Downey Jr. plays an actual grownup!
2. Straight No Chaser
This is an all-male a cappella group and I just got their new CD because I heard it at Barnes and Noble and I couldn't resist. They cover Jason Mraz, Coldplay, and Queen, and Barry Manilow makes a guest appearance. How can you beat that? Go to YouTube and enjoy their version of the 12 Days of Christmas.
3. Glee!I was late to the party, but I am fully on board now. I am hoping I can catch the few episodes I missed during summer reruns. I can't wait for next season, although I really hope they skip any more Will-pretends-to-seduce-Sue scenes, because it is just too creepy!
4. Fruit smoothies.
This is my new breakfast obsession. Banana, frozen fruit, yogurt, and almond milk. Yum!
5. The Sage Remedy Top.
It was fun to knit and I really like how it turned out. When I blocked it, the Denim Silk needed three days to dry, so I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. I am hoping it can make its world debut Tuesday so I can wear it to knitting. I am also hoping to make another one in a more colorful color.
They are cute and comfy and you can get away with it if you decide shaving your legs every other day is good enough. The one flaw is that they usually have straps instead of sleeves, so I need a little cardi to wear with them. I went back to the beloved minisweater pattern and whipped one up in O-Wool Balance. I started the front edge increases earlier and then I knit the sleeves before the body so that I could knit the body as long as my yarn held out. In the end I had a cute little sweater and less than a yard of leftover yarn.
I can't explain exactly why, but making those colorful little bands entrances me. My latest one turned into a hatband for L's new hat. I have found that the secret to pickup patterns is to make sure your pattern yarn is much thicker than your background. I tacked it down with needle and thread, so it should stay in place.
I get to do fun stuff like lie on the couch and blog while I am watching Gilmore Girls. Sweet!Happy weekend everybody!
